Operational Overview
The Mahama Water Supply System (WSS), operated by Ayateke Star Company Ltd, provides reliable and high-quality water and sanitation services to Mahama Refugee Camp and the surrounding local population. Since 2019, we have been responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Mahama Water Treatment Plant under a contract agreement with UNHCR.
Currently, Mahama WSS serves approximately 70,000 people. The system oversees daily management of water distribution networks, ensuring uninterrupted service across the camp and nearby areas. Regular maintenance of pipelines, reservoirs, and treatment facilities helps prevent disruptions.
Water quality monitoring is a core function, with routine testing conducted to ensure that all distributed water meets national and international health standards. The system continues to grow through strategic investments in infrastructure and sustainable technologies.
