On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, the Mahama Water Treatment Plant welcomed a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The visit aimed to evaluate the progress of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives within the Mahama Refugee Camp. The delegation assessed the effectiveness of the water treatment process, the quality and reliability of water testing procedures, and the condition of laboratory equipment. They also reviewed the status of sanitation facilities and hygiene practices to ensure they align with health and safety standards for the camp’s residents.
